Why use this video cutter
Cut to the exact frame
The clip starts and ends exactly where you put the handles, not a second early at the nearest keyframe.
Done on your device
When your browser can handle the video, the work happens right there and the video never leaves your device.
An MP4 that plays anywhere
You get an H.264 MP4 with AAC sound, which phones, browsers, chat apps and editors all play.
No watermark, no sign-up
Nothing is added to the result, and there’s no account or email address to give.
Ways to use the video cutter
Clips for social media
Keep the best few seconds for a Story, a Reel or a Short.
Recordings without the dead air
Drop the setup at the start of a screen or meeting recording and the goodbyes at the end.
Highlights from a long video
Pull one moment out of a game, a lecture or a family video to share on its own.
A smaller file to send
A shorter video is a smaller file. Cut it first, then compress it if it’s still too big.
Questions
Can’t find your answer? Write to feedback@videocompressor.xyz.
Does the cut land on the exact frame?
Yes. The clip is re-encoded, so it starts and ends exactly where you put the handles, not at the nearest keyframe.
Can I cut out several parts at once?
Not yet: each cut keeps one continuous part. To keep two parts, cut the video twice.
Which video formats can I cut?
Any video that plays on this page, which covers most MP4, MOV and WebM files. If yours doesn’t play, try another browser, or compress it here first to get an MP4.
Does cutting lower the quality?
The part you keep is encoded again at a high quality setting, so it looks practically the same as the original.
Can I cut a video on my phone?
Yes. Pick a video from your photo library, drag the handles and save the result. If your phone can’t do the work, our server does it.
Is my video uploaded?
Not when your browser can do the work: then the video never leaves your device. Otherwise it goes to our server over an encrypted connection and is deleted 2 hours later.
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no watermark, no email address. Videos that need our server can be up to 1 GB, 5 per day.
